One of the nice features of the Lafayette General Medical Center interior signage solution is the value engineering of the graphic inserts and the curved accent bar to help promote a healing environment. As more hospitals and medical offices move toward creating healing-focused interior environments by using natural light, works of art, warm color/tones and natural materials, signage providers are challenged to provide functional signage solutions that complement the environment without breaking the budget.

The architectural signage solution for Lafayette General uses photographic quality digitally-printed  inserts to simulate natural wood grain laminates, and the signs feature beautiful, artistic photos of local scenery. In addition, instead of shaping actual wood accents, the curved accent bars are made from aluminum and are finished using a special vacuum formed powder-coating that replicates the look of wood.

The images on the right show one of the wall-mounted ADA signs with a digitally-printed insert and a Raster™ Braille ADA insert with wood grain printed on the second surface. The hay bales are one of a dozen images that decorate the patient room signs on each floor and contribute to the “works of art” category for healing environments. The floor directional sign shows the actual wood paneling that the wood grain insert complements. The modular interior signage system used is Horizon.
