Custom Exterior Monument Sign for Pond Elementary School in Missouri Makes a Great Impression
A recent article from the Eureka-Wildwood Patch, by Joyce VanMatre, titled “Lights, Sign, Action: One School’s New Marquee” talks about the the custom exterior sign in front of the Pond Elementary School in Wildwood building. The photos below, which are from the article, show the architectural features of the elementary school and how ASI, St. Louis designed the exterior monument sign to complement the new building.
Here are some excerpts from the article…
“[ASI, St. Louis] artists, the sign designers for this project, were asked to create a look that would allow for maximum visibility while complementing the school building’s newly renovated exterior. Claire Fusz with ASI, St. Louis gave the sign’s dimensions as 7 feet 4 inches high and 9 feet 8 inches wide. Because the sign has backlighting, it required special approval from Wildwood’s architectural review board members. Wentzel Electric staffers of High Ridge, MO, worked with ASI, St. Louis to install the electrical components.”
The new sign already has made quite an impact to the community, because of its placement, color and design, said Pond Principal Carlos Diaz-Granados. “With its obvious visibility, it is easier to communicate information and boost the Pond Panthers’ school pride,” he said. Diaz-Granados said the new sign has exceeded expectations. “The lines and colors of the new marquee really work well with the new architecture on the front of the school building,” he said. Diaz-Granados said the old sign, purchased more than 20 years ago, likely will be removed from the site.”
