The Designer’s Easy Button: Customize Modular Signage Systems and be a Hero to your Client
Attention graphic designers, we need to talk. Your one-of-a-kind designs are incredible and inspirational and really help bring your client’s brand identify and architectural environment to life. However, your designs aren’t always the easiest to produce. It’s not the first 50 or 100 signs we are talking about – it’s the one or two add-on signs or replacement sign they need one or two years after the job is done.
While the custom design that calls for glass or stainless steel or brushed aluminum might look great in the architectural environment, it might not look so good to the facility manager or accounting department once they realize there is a minimum charge of $300 and a six to eight week lead time to get one new office sign that only cost $30 when the initial job was sold.
Designers, we understand – you were hired to create beautiful design solutions to complement the architectural design and the décor of the environment. However, there is a simple and effective way to create a custom solution that will not cause your client to have a fit when they need to reorder one sign or change a message panel: customize a modular system sign. Of course, it’s always easier said than done. Over the years, we’ve compiled hundreds of examples of customized modular system signage.
Here are three examples successful modular customizations and a link to modular signage systems solutions. If you have examples you’d like to share, send them to us and we’ll post them.
