We are at the mid-point on ASI’s campaign supporting the Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink for the Cure® and we are happy to report that donations are coming in from architectural firms and the design community as well as our vendors. As many of you know, the Susan G. Komen foundation supports life-saving research, education, screenings and treatment programs in the fight to end breast cancer forever. What you might not know if that ASI is matching all combined donations received throughout the month of October up to $1000.

An Idea that Helps the Environment and Helps Save a Life

One great idea for generating money for a donation came to us from one of our offices. An ASI affiliate had the great idea of taking all the proceeds they earned from recycling the aluminum, steel, and glass scrap materials from their daily fabrication efforts and donating all the money to the Passionately Pink for the Cure® campaign. Therefore, the office staff is not only keeping waste out of the landfill, they are also helping save the life of someone impacted by breast cancer.

Every Penny Counts: Shop Sale to Save a Life

After hearing about ASI’s  Passionately Pink for the Cure® campaign, an ASI supplier decided to use the proceeds earned from a one-day “shop clearance sale” (think garage sale) in their industrial area and donate a portion of the proceeds. In addition, some of the staff got to work baking and held a small bake sale along with the shop clearance sale and donated the proceeds to the cause.
