Unique Donor Recognition System that Captures the Spirit of a Cultural Center
The International Quilt Study Center, a new facility designed by Robert A.M. Stern, houses an internationally known collection of rare quilts.
Because the International Quilt Study Center was only made possible by the generous contribution of donors, the center wanted two donor recognition systems to illustrate its appreciation.
About the Solution
Working with the University of Nebraska Foundation, a quilter focus committee and the architect to establish design criteria, ASI designed and implemented a signage solution to recognize the contributions of those that made the facility possible.
ASI created two separate displays – one to recognize donors to the capital campaign and another to recognize the contributions of various quilting guilds. Both displays were designed using traditional quilt patterns that were recreated by using acrylic that contained embedded textiles of various color and texture.
The displays further enhance the interior and complement – rather than compete with – the artwork housed in the facility. The client was very pleased that the delivered product clearly showed appreciation for the donors while capturing the spirit of the center.
